Trekking in Kuching >>>>>Part 3 (Mt. Serapi ~ Kubah National Park)

By Dud3
Starting from the last week of May till the end of June was a troubled period of time for me. First of all, I broke my right fifth metacarpal just the day before our group went over to KL for Robocon Competition which I if not mistaken on the 23th of May. With my right hand disabled, I wasn't able to ride my bike no more. Anyway, we still proceed to KL for our competition.

After coming back from KL means time to catch up with our studies which was left behind for weeks and also the due date for our assignments. Anyway, I manged to make it through and only after the final exam, I gained back my right hand!Anyway, the long awaited holidays just doesn't turned out as how I want it to be.

On 17th July afternoon, I came up with a stupid idea and go ahead with it without thinking twice. Guess what, I'm going to climb to the summit of Mt. Serapi and drink booze there

On our way to Kubah National Park.

The first thing you can see after the guard house.

And this signboard indicates some craps.

Saw this plant on our way up where the local called it 'Periuk Kera' but in English is Nepenthes. There are lots of other weird plants too...

Path leading to the Natural Frog Pond and also the Waterfall Trail.

Almost reaching the summit.

A cable car at the summit to transport items to the communication tower @ the highest peak.

That is the communication tower.

The view from the summit [1].

Actually, the photo above is taken behind this huge signboard.

We took about one and a half hour to reach the summit. Although the weather looks hot, but it actually feels just a little bit warm and the air is cool and refreshing. We spent quite some time up there taking photos and drinking beer. The weather was just so nice that I almost fall asleep especially after drinking beer. By the way, the cool nice whether fooled us and I got a little bit sunburn.

The viewing tower where we drank booze.
And this is me with 'Heineken'. Sorry, I'm not advertising for Heineken.

After we finished our beer, we decided to have a closer look at the communication tower. As we walk closer, we were greeted by guard dogs. We manage to snap a shot at the 2 elegant looking guard dog and back on our way down as more guard dogs appeared. I just can't imagine if any of us got bitten by that number of dogs at the same time..... By the time we descend and reach the Waterfall Trail, it is already 5.30pm. Anyway, we decided to go for a look.

The water was so tempting that we change our mind and have a dip.

Time flies when we are enjoying @ the waterfall. We quickly make our way out as the sky turn dark and reach our car at around 7.30pm.
