The Place That I Came From...
Remember my nick? It is actually the name of my hometown, an island off Borneo. Shown below is the map of the main island & some other smaller island which are worth 2 b visited.

Intro:
First of all, Labuan is just a small island with total area of approx. 92 square kilometers. It is also called "The International Island Garden of Borneo" but I don't know since when, hehehe...
Just as any other tropical island, surrounding coral reefs which provide a delicate marine ecosystem n the beaches + nearby islands are the major attractions in this island. There are also some shipwrecks which are accessible for experienced divers 2 explore n lovers of sea sports can enjoy an increasing range of water sports n recreations with the increased of facilities provided either free or at a small charge by the local authority.
War Memorial...

Peace Park...

The Surrender Point...

The "Chimney"...

Three in a shot from ferry...
There are more places 2 b visited such as the Marine Park n International Sea Sports Complex which I myself has never been there b4 since I was n is still in Kuching when the building was completed n open 2 the public... =)

Apart from all tat, wat can u think of when a place is stamped with "Duty Free"? It basically means u r at a place where the "Happy hours ~ for beer" is 24-7 in many pubs and lounges around town. You might even found 1 of those places where a Coke is more expensive. I really miss that..... =) Besides, smokers will find tat they r at their heaven since the *cigarette price is much more cheaper.
Overall, I'd say tat it is a nice place 2 relax n recuperate but not 4 'Gold mining'.
*WARNINGS
Smoke n drink at ur own risks...

Enterence 2 Labuan Bird Park...This bird park is located at Tanjung Kubong n is home 2 many species of Borneo Birds. Bird watching here can b done with minimum requirement of "a pair of good eyes" n on top of all, the entrance 2 the park is free.
War Memorial...
Located @ Tanjung Batu with 3908 graves of soldiers which most of them were Australians n British with some from the Punjab Signal Corp, New Zealand as well as some locals.
The place was constructed n maintained by Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

Peace Park...
Located @ Layang - Layangan n is close ® considered next 2 the Surrender Point. It is basically a small park with small ponds n stone bridges + park seats which r all Japanese - inspired.

The Surrender Point...
Next 2 the Peace Park. Zoom in n u can read watever written on the bronze plate.
Do u believe tat, the bronze plate was once stolen b4 2 b sold as scrape metal? I just can't imagine how those ppl came up with tat idea which landed them in jail 4 destroying the historical monument.

The "Chimney"...
Situated at Tanjung Kubong n very close 2 the Bird Park, this chimney is standing tall with height of 106 feet which was initially built up using around 23000 pieces of red bricks imported from England.
"Written there but I never know whether it is true ® not bout the bricks from England".

Three in a shot from ferry...
The 3 giant buildings @ the back are the so called Financial Park. As 4 the 1 in front (lowest building in a row), it is the Waterfront hotel. Last but not least, the building on the left is the Sheraton Hotel.
There are more places 2 b visited such as the Marine Park n International Sea Sports Complex which I myself has never been there b4 since I was n is still in Kuching when the building was completed n open 2 the public... =)
