Trekking in Kuching >>>>>Part 1 (Mt. Santubong)

By Dud3
I've been mountain trekking for quite some time even before I came to this 'Cat city' and it's actually my favorite outdoor activity. I simply love mountain trekking because I will be standing at a point high up above and can even reach out to the clouds; that feeling is just awesome and unexplainable! Maybe I'm the only stupid one who will think that way.....;P

So when I first reached Kuching, I planned to trek all the accessible mountain within my course duration in Swinburne. Anyway, I was consistently 'tiok pang pue ki' by my friends who promise to go trekking with me. At the end, I finally made the decision to go for trekking even 'bo ka' to accompany me. Haha, sounds crazy but is fine for me =)

My first trip is of course to Mt. Santubog which happened in May this year. And luckily, I got one 'ka' who wants to go with me. Both of us never trek the mountain before so we don't even know the main entrance and actually overshoot while on our way there. We reached the main entrance at around 1130 and start our journey up to the summit. Since both of us are first timers, we don't dare to move to fast fearing that we might actually missed the sign leading to the summit. After spending more than 2 hours, we finally reach the summit....

Below are some of the pictures during that trip but the quality simply sux.....

Half way up 2 the summit [around station F8].

U will hav 2 climb this kind of stairs quite a few times b4 reaching the summit.

U will see this statue when u reach the summit.

N this plate stated the history kind of stuff n is mounted on the side of the statue.

Hav a dip @ the waterfall while on our way down. Did u notice tat some 1 even wrote 'Tyson' on the wall of the waterfall? Btw, the water was cool n refreshing especially after long hours of trekking...

Finally reach our car just b4 sunset.

This is the 'ka' who accompanied me.

*The pictures taken on the summit is blurrier cause we were actually in the clouds that day. And if you notice properly, you can actually see swallows caught in my shot(s).
